Sam (Samantha) Gordon is the latest internet celebrity, right in the height of her 15 minutes of fame. HER pee-wee football highlight tape has been shown all over ESPN, ABC, and went beyond viral with over 2 million views this week before her father inexplicably removed it from YouTube.
This 9-year-old has been compared to almost every notable running back of the last 20 years, from Barry Sanders to Adrian Peterson to Chris Johnson. Personally she reminds me Denard Robinson (she’s the QB for goodness sake). No matter which star you decide to compare her to, she probably deserves it. This season Sam had 35 TDs, 1900+ yds at 8.2 yds per carry, and managed to rack up 65 tackles on defense.
Although her father removed the original highlight tape, there are several re-posts on YouTube. So if you’re interested enough to watch the whole thing, and don’t mind a random artist’s personal soundtrack overlaying it, check it out.
