Ken Block’s back, Gymkhana Five.

I’ve been the most impatient person ever since June 18.  That was the morning Ken Block (via his Facebook page) announced that the latest install of his Gymkhana series would be releasing July 9.

Well today is July 9, 2012.  So without further ado, here’s Gymkhana Five: Ultimate Urban Playground; San Francisco.  Must watch in full-screen HD.

Ken Block’s an icon I’ve been following since I seriously got into cars.  His rally driver career began in 2005, and he’s been making major waves in the sport ever since.  He’s competed in the Rally America National Championships, X-Games, Canadian Rally Championships, and World Rally Championships all with great success.  And until 2010 all of this, along with previous Gymkhana episodes, was done in his DC Shoes sponsored Subaru Impreza WRX STi.  As a former Subaru owner I was especially excited to see what these cars were capable of in the hands of a professional.

In 2010 Block made the switch to Ford, competing & “hooning” in a Focus hatchback, and later his WRC RS Fiesta.

I know Ken Block’s Fiesta is 650 HP and capable of going 0-60 MPH in 1.8 seconds, but apparently the new Focus ST has 252 HP.  Anyone willing to let me borrow theirs and practice?
