Bo Bikes Bama

Legendary MLB & NFL athlete, notorious Nike icon, and unstoppable video game character Bo Jackson has picked up a new sport.  Cycling.  Bo Bikes Bama is Bo Jackson’s charity cycling journey of “300 miles through the tornado ravaged communities of Alabama.”  The ride begins on Tuesday, April 24 at Lake Guntersville State Park, and ends in Tuscaloosa on Saturday the 28th.  Bo’s goal for the ride is to raise $1 Million for the Alabama Governor’s Emergency Relief Fund.  Money is being raised through the ride’s sponsors (Nike, Trek, and CSE), and by individual donations.  Donations may be made via the Bo Bikes Bama homepage.  Or for those who wish to get more for their donated dollars, $200 will get you to opportunity to accompany Bo for a segment of his ride across Alabama.

Check out what Bo says inspired him to create this event, and he hopes to accomplish by doing it.

I think what Bo Jackson is doing is awesome. Cycling is great, and doing it to benefit others in need makes it even better.
