Live365, the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I don’t usually call something “the greatest thing since sliced bread”, but when I do it’s no exaggeration.

Ever since my trial subscription to XM Radio expired I’ve been dying to fill the commercial free, massive variety of genres, and huge station selection void it left behind.  Live365 is the answer.  Live365 is a network of over 5000 internet radio stations, featuring more than 260 different genres, from over 150 countries.  That is the definition of variety.

Did I mention it was FREE? The free version of lets you listen with very minimal ads via phone (iPhone or Android) or computer through the website.  The paid “VIP” service (available for under $5/month) gives you access to an additional 2000 stations, allows you to access Live365 through many other devices, pays royalties to artists & stations, and provides HD quality sound.

I could go on-and-on about the ability to share what you’re listening to via Facebook, Twitter, and email; or the ability to instantly send the DJs comments or whether or not you like a particular song; or many of the other great features Live365.  But I think you should try it for yourself.  Search ‘Live365’ and download it free from Google Play (formerly known as the Android Marketplace) or Apple App Store.  Or to stream directly to your computer from the Live365 website.

I’ve only had Live365 for a few days so most of the 7000 stations are unplayed.  But if you’re looking for a great electronic/dance/trance/pop station, I recommend ElectricFM.  Once you try Live365 come back here and let me know what your favorite stations are.

Interesting post on LIve365. I wrote about it in my blog on Internet Radio. I would welcome any comments you would care to leave there since you have direct experience with the service. The LIVE365 section can be accessed through:

    Best regards,

I would suggest a couple of stations: “We Play It For Laughs” & “That 70’s Station”. The first one is mine (so no other explanation is needed) and the second one is great for those who remember the great music in the 70’s.

At home I enjoy “New Age Stars” as it delivers unintrusive, pleasant sounds when catching up on email, internet-surfing and studying. At work I tune to “Baroque 24/7” as the fare is well- chosen, beautifully played, and uplifting.

Because of live365 and other great options, Sirius, with its underwhelming service will be a bankrupt company with 2 deal birdies floating through space. They deserve it. Sorry Sirius, but you wayyyy overpriced yourself with poor quality and horrendous service for what you provide.
The world on my iPhone! Thanks Live365. plus, it’s great for us news and talk radio junkies!

I have loved Live365 for 8 years. I must have been one of their early VIPs. Still love it. My favorite station is
“The Cosmic Island” out of Las Vegas. The best ambient, new age; perfect for when I have to focus, read, study.
One thing, I want to end my sirius subscription for my car and have live365 instead. How’s that done?
