Unless you haven’t been paying much attention to the NFL since the New York Giants won Super Bowl XLVI last February, I’m sure you’ve heard of the NFL’s latest scandal, the New Orleans Saints Bounty Program. Earlier this month the NFL publicized that it was investigating the entire Saints organization for a rumored ‘Bounty Program’ which paid defensive players cash bonuses for injuring or taking out opposing players. If none of this is ringing a bell, or you want further details, I suggest read USA Today’s breakdown of the incident from start to finish.
ESPN’s SportsCenter was kind enough to provide a cool graphical display of the Saint’s punishment.

I highly doubt anyone believe the Saints weren’t in the wrong for instituting such a program (don’t hesitate to let me know if I am mistaken though). Given that this went on from 2009-11 I believe everything in respect to the suspensions and personal fines are right on. But a $500,000 fine is a drop in the bucket for an entire franchise. That particular fine in my opinion should be 10 times as much, which still isn’t much to in respect to how much cash a successful NFL franchise has at its disposal. But do you believe the punishment Commissioner Roger Goodell handed down was too harsh, too lenient, or just right? LET ME KNOW BELOW.
Too lenient. shawn paytin should have been forced to resign
