“Sen. Stacey Campfield’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill made it out of a House subcommittee today, banning discussion of all but “natural human reproduction science” before the ninth grade in public schools.”
This quote is from a recent article in the Nashville Scene about Tennessee state representative Stacey Campfield’s projected bill to ban discussion of all things not heterosexual in public schools. Supporters of the bill took special exception to a popular television show, and went as far as saying it should be banned from homes with children.
” “I don’t think ‘Modern Family’ is appropriate for children to watch,” Hensley said solemnly after a Nashville preacher testified children might find out about gay people by seeing the show even if teachers aren’t allowed to say gay in schools.”
Well, when I don’t want to watch something on TV… I just change the channel (but let’s be honest, when do I NOT want to watch something on TV?). What are your thoughts on the Tennessee rep’s proposal? Do you think he’s doing too much? Do you think banning a television show will affect whether kids grow up homosexual? I don’t. If you don’t like the show, don’t watch it Mr. Campfield.

I think Modern Family is hilarious, and that Stacey Campfield is the type of person to think that Modern Family is bad for children but Jersey Shore isn’t

Now, you can’t talk about gay before the 9th grade? you learn about sex in 4th grade I’m pretty sure you can learn what gay means around then too.
